This research will study the COVID-19 response in Belarus, focusing in particular on data recording and data communication by the government and local media. Because of the lack of reporting in the country, piecing together data on cases, hospitalisations, deaths, health care system performance, lock down compliance etc is difficult. Therefore, in addition to data outlets, we will sift and scrape national newspaper articles, public statements and government communication. As far as the data allows, we will produce a COVID-19 database for Belarus, accompanied by a policy brief and a research paper.
